home tribe of one of dreaming faces groundbound south square work in progress

Here is a selection of solo music making. This is the sound of the inside of my head given life with violin, field recordings, guest musicians, MC303 sequencer, trumpet, guitar and other instruments.

A series of three CDs were recorded under the name Tribe of One between 2006 and 2008.  These were available through the Tribesounds label and Myspace.

Artist Jean McEwan used some Tribe of One music for two  films shown at 12 Squared festival in St Georges Hall Bradford, 2007. We talked about devising an interactive joint audiovisual performance and Of Dreaming Faces was formed. The resulting show 'Fortunes' was performed in 2008-2009.

Aerial artist Becky Truman asked me to make the soundtrack for her short film 'Groundbound' about what happens to a performer once retired from the trapeze.

Contemporary art gallery the South Square Centre in Thornton, Bradford offered a space for a solo performance and accepted a piece of sound art in 2012.

Work in progress currently focuses on trying to find ways of performing pieces live without backing tracks, making soundscapes using live loops

News update October 2014

Progress has been made on making  collaborative music and sculpture, possibly for performance, maybe for galleries,  with Sally Barker, an artist based in Hebden Bridge, West Yorks, UK,  watch this space

There's some new proto tracks on the work in progress page, ideas are flowing again and I have some neat new and simple technology to help.

Contact me if you are an artist who is interested in joint projects. I'm interested in devising sounds and music for live performance with visual artists, film makers, dancers, poets, other musicians. I live in West Yorkshire, UK.
